SATURDAY 11-12.30PM

Do you have an interest in using natural British wool in felt making?

Then why not join Tracey for this workshop? She will show you how to use natural wool fibres, to lay it out and around a natural, hand crafted soap before felting it. These hand felted soaps make fabulous gifts.

The benefits of felted soaps:

  • wool is a natural exfoliant you can use the felted soap just as it is in the shower/bath it’ll make your skin feel lovely and soft
  • it is also naturally antibacterial
  •  the soap lasts longer and the felt will shrink with the soap
  • it leaves no soap residue on surfaces and continues to look and smell good for as long as it lasts.
  • when it is used up, rinse out the felt, dry it and sprinkle with a few drops of essential oils then use it to scent your room or youyr clothes drawers.

Please could each participant bring a small towel and a small recycled plastic drink bottle with holes pierced in lid and a plastic bag to take home your wet felted soap.

Tracey is a felt and textile artist specialising in creating truly unique hand crafted items, with many years of experience.

Her journey with textiles began as a teenager, building on this foundation with a City and Guilds qualification in Creative Embroidery and Textiles where she discovered her love of free machine embroudery, dyeing and felting to add to her hand embroidery skills, Over the years she has developed these skills, also studying up to level 3 NCFE in fibre craft. More recently she has discovered a love for hand spinning. Tracey often sources her fleece from local farmers for her felt and hand spinning work and often uses recycled materials in her embroidery work. She has a desire to pass on these skills to others, especially the next generation.
